Pornorgraphy on the Increase
The Power of Unity
Hi everyone –
This truly deserves the concentrated intercessory prayer of your church and your neighboring churches. If these two articles don't grieve your spirit enough to pray, then we might as well throw in the towel:
From the January 20 edition of MedialifeMagazine.com: The child porn problem on the internet has gotten far worse, and the United States is the major problem. Rome-based nonprofit Rainbow Phone reported a shocking 70 percent rise in pedophilia web sites in 2003. Of the 17,016 web sites featuring explicit child pornography reported last year, 60 percent came from the United States. From the January 26 edition of AdvertisingAge.com, The Porno-ization of American Media and Marketing: A trend guru remarks that "porn is the norm," and to prove it, we've now had a prime time show featuring both a porn star and Tammy Faye (Baker) Messner in the same program, WB's "Surreal Life." (It was the highest-rated show ever in that time period in the WB's 10-year history.) A 48-foot high billboard of porn queen Jenna Jameson (who has appeared on E! cable network and Entertainment Tonight and many mainstream magazine stories) stands in Time Square, the heart of the ad industry. Publisher Judith Regan of Harper Collins Regan Books states thatporn "has been elevated in terms of its status." A Hollywood film documentary on "Deep Throat" is in the works, and HBO is planning a six-part documentary called "Pornucopia: Going Down in the Valley," while Showtime begins the second season of its porn-centric series, "Family Business." The adult entertainment industry is nowestimated to generate up to $11 billion in annual revenue, making itbigger than Hollywood's feature film business. The Center for the Study of Popular Television at Syracuse University notes that porn's taboo makes it "rascally and funny," and that "TV is dropping its pants and saying a naughty word to get attention. Does the media industry have your attention yet?
Is this the world in which we want our sons and daughters to grow up, being lured into the seductive world of adult and child porn?
Are you angry enough to do something about it, or should we stand by passively and let it grow even worse? Please be honest: If you won't do something to counter it, then you've accepted it.
A wise man recently said that the erosion of our values didn't happen overnight. This has seeped in, crossing more and more lines, because so few people are willing to put their foot down to stop it.
I'm appealing to all pastors, teachers, evangelists, apostles and prophets to put the word out for intensive intercessory prayer into the pornography, television, motion picture and advertising industries, as well as into the Internet.

It's time to say, "Enough!" Let's hit the spirit behind this, with some concentrated Ephesians 6 spiritual warfare and authority. Our unified prayers can create one voice with a powerful impact! "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal (physical, worldly), but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds" (2 Cor. 10:4).
Thank you and God bless!
